Without Walls
This is a unique service providing a high level of support to a small number of individuals who have ‘complex needs’. The project replaces the traditional ‘day centre’ which would usually be the place where daytime activities would be offered. Because of their complex needs, the enclosed environment of the day centre is unsuitable, and so this project offer a service ‘without walls’, hence the name.
The service offers bespoke individual activities and daytime support, usually on an individual basis. The team use the ‘Positive Behaviour Support’ approach to provide a safe, person-centred programme. You can find out more about Positive Behaviour Support here.
Without Walls forms part of our Outreach Service, which is regulated by the Care Quality Commission. They inspect care services on a regular basis and provide a report on their findings. Sometimes, they will make recommendations which need to be implemented. Rathbone’s Outreach service is currently rated as ‘GOOD’. You can see our most recent report here.
