Standards & Quality

At Rathbone, quality is not an add-on. It is built into everything we do with adults with learning disabilities, young people and their families. We are committed to safe, person-centred support, delivered by skilled staff and grounded in the realities of life in Lambeth.

Our Commitment to Quality

Safe & Reliable

Support that is well-coordinated, reliable, and safe.

Skilled & Caring

Staff who are consistent, caring, and highly skilled.

Inclusive & Welcoming

Services that are accessible to all in our community.

Always Learning

A culture where your feedback leads to real change.

Guiding Principles

We believe that high-quality support starts with listening. Every adult, young person and family who works with us has their own story, strengths and goals. We use these to shape support plans, youth work and learning opportunities that are realistic and meaningful.

Person-Centred

Support informed by lived experience

Starting with what matters most to the person, not what is easiest for us. That means:

  • Focusing on strengths, abilities and interests

  • Supporting people to make choices and take positive risks

  • Working alongside families and carers where appropriate

For adults with learning disabilities, this might mean building confidence in managing money, travel or personal care at a manageable pace. For young people, it might mean a trusted youth worker who listens, supports school engagement or helps them take their first steps into work.

Equality, Diversity & Inclusion

Respect, fairness and inclusion for all

Rathbone works in one of the most diverse boroughs in London. We are committed to being an organisation where everyone is treated with dignity and respect. We aim to:

  • Provide services that are inclusive and accessible

  • Recognise and respond to different cultural, language, faith and identity needs

  • Challenge discrimination in all its forms

  • Reflect the communities we serve in our staff and volunteers as far as possible

We regularly review our practice and policies to ensure we are promoting equality and inclusion across all areas of our work.
