Accessibility Statement

Last updated: 21st August 2025

Rathbone Society is committed to making our website accessible to as many people as possible, including people with disabilities. We aim to meet the WCAG 2.2 AA standard.

What we are doing

  • Building pages with proper headings, landmarks, and semantic HTML.
  • Providing meaningful link text and alternative text for images.
  • Ensuring sufficient colour contrast and visible focus states.
  • Supporting keyboard navigation and screen reader compatibility.
  • Testing layouts on mobile, tablet, and desktop devices.

Tools and approach

We use a combination of manual checks and automated testing to assess accessibility. We also use the Ally plugin to help identify issues and improve usability. Automated tools do not catch every issue, so we welcome feedback from users.

Compatibility

This site is designed to work with the latest versions of major browsers, including Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari. Some older browsers or assistive technologies may not fully support all features.

Known limitations

We continue to work on the following areas:

  • Legacy PDF documents that may not be fully accessible.
  • Older images that may be missing descriptive alternative text.
  • Occasional embedded third-party content that we do not control.

If you encounter an issue that prevents access to information, please contact us and we will provide the content in an accessible format.

Feedback and contact

We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of our website. If you experience any problems, need information in a different format, or have suggestions for improvement, please contact:
