Adult service

Without Walls

Personalised, one-to-one daytime support for adults with complex needs, focused on meaningful activities in the community instead of traditional day centres.

Is this service right for the person you support?

Who it's for
Adults with learning disabilities who have complex needs, including behaviour that may challenge, autism, or significant health and sensory needs. It is designed for people who need a high level of structure and individual support, and who benefit from carefully planned activities outside a centre-based service.
Age range
Adults aged 18 and over with a learning disability
Cost & funding
Without Walls is commissioned as a specialist service for people with complex needs. Packages are agreed with the local authority and may involve different funding levels than standard outreach, reflecting the level of one-to-one support and planning involved. We can explain the funding model clearly to families and professionals before any placement is confirmed.
When support is offered
Support is offered on set days each week, mainly during daytime hours. People usually attend for full-day or half-day sessions on agreed days. Timetables and locations are planned in advance, with flexibility to adapt plans if someone is unwell, anxious or their needs change.

How to refer

Refer someone to Without Walls

Referrals usually come from social workers and multidisciplinary teams after a detailed assessment of needs. Because this is a specialist service, we normally ask for up-to-date behaviour support plans, risk assessments and relevant clinical information. Families and professionals can contact us to discuss whether Without Walls is the right service and what information is required to proceed.
