Adult service
Supported Living
24-hour support in small, shared homes that helps adults with learning disabilities live safely, make choices and stay connected to their community.
Is this service right for the person you support?
- Who it's for
- Adults with learning disabilities who need regular support to live safely in their own home, but do not need a registered care home. People may have autism, physical health needs or mental health needs alongside their learning disability. Support is person-centred and built around each person’s routines, communication and goals.
- Age range
- Adults aged 18 and over with a learning disability who are eligible for social care support.
- Cost & funding
- Supported living is usually funded by the local authority through an individual support package. The council normally covers the cost of support hours. People are responsible for their rent, bills and everyday living costs, often with help to claim the correct benefits. We can talk through costs and funding options with you, your family and your social worker before any support starts.
- When support is offered
- Support is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, based on each person’s assessed needs and support plan. This can include daytime support, evening support, overnight support and planned one-to-one time in the community.
