What you need to know
Old Library Youth Club is an open-access youth provision run by trained, trauma-informed youth workers. All staff are DBS checked and work within Rathbone’s safeguarding and health and safety policies. Young people are signed in and out, and staff supervise the building, outdoor spaces and activities throughout the session. The club offers hot food, structured and unstructured activities, and quiet spaces for those who need them. Parents and carers can speak to a senior youth worker at any time about their child’s needs, behaviour, accessibility requirements or any changes at home or school that may affect them.
How to sign up
Young people can drop in during opening times, or come along with a friend. On their first visit, a youth worker will explain how the club works and complete a short registration and consent form with them and, where needed, their parent or carer. Professionals and parents can also contact the Youth Team in advance if they want to talk about a young person who may benefit.
For young people
What you can expect
This is your space. You can come to Old Library Youth Club to chill, eat, play games, use the music studio, get help with homework or just talk to someone you trust. You choose what you join in with, and you can bring your ideas for new activities. Youth workers are there to keep you safe, support you with things going on in your life, and help you build skills and confidence. You do not have to be good at anything to join in. You only need to show respect for other young people and staff.
